hi, my name is chaveli !
I’m a photographer, filmmaker and writer, above all, I’m a storyteller.
For the past ten years, through chaveli.co, I’ve been fueled by my passion for capturing life and all the love within it in a cinematic way.
Every chapter, every moment full of love is so fleeting, and preserving them for my clients to hold onto forever has been my greatest honor.
Ten years ago, I picked up my camera, and began this business - not knowing all the joy it would bring, all the love I would feel and capture, and all the people I would meet - who would change my life forever.
Beginning chaveli.co has shown me the astounding repercussions of allowing yourself to follow your heart completely.
That choice, that initial investment towards what fueled my hear the most, served as the catalyst that brought more love and happiness than I could have ever imagined.
The finest example being that this craft led me to quite literally meeting the love of my life, Brandon, at a New York City coffee shop, while I lived there studying Cinematic Storytelling at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
Our love for storytelling unified us 6 years ago and together we have grown two other photo + video businesses together, CB Studios and CB Studios Branding, and created a family of two beautiful babies (our Nico and Lucia), and puppies (Archie and Bella) - our absolute world.
When I began this business, I would repeat a mantra to myself to carry me through all the good times and the bad - one that would echo throughout the course of all these years.
It would go like:
I am a photographer. I am a writer. I am a storyteller. I believe in the power of stories.
I believe in the power of people.
What began as a mantra, evolved into a mission statement, guiding me to treat all who I worked with, with dignity, respect and love - all while having the honor of capturing some of the most intimate and beautiful moments of people’s lives.
Today, I’m honored to have been entrusted with capturing the stories of hundreds of people - laughing with them, crying with them and holding their hand through so many chapters of life.
